AGRICULTURAL LIME
Agricultural Lime helps Kenyan farmers improve crop yields. For best results, the soil needs to be nutrient-rich, but it must also have a balanced pH. The best way to maintain a healthy pH is with the correct application of Agricultural lime.
Kenya has rich limestone deposits suitable for Agricultural Lime in Kajiado county. Geographically this is roughly 80km from Nairobi and at the southern edge of the former Rift Valley province. Agricultural lime, is made from limestone which is a from calcium carbonate (CaCO3). This type of limestone can be found in other areas of Kenya including Kitui, Koru, Songhor, and Mombasa.
Dolomitic lime (CaCO3 + MgCO3) is made from dolomite, which is a similar stone that also contains magnesium. The primary difference between the two materials is that, in addition to containing calcium carbonate, dolomitic lime also contains a mixture of magnesium carbonate.

Improve fertiliser efficiency
Boost farmer’s profit potential by improving fertiliser efficiency by as much as 50 percent. The proper use of Lime is crucial for successful crop management because excess acidity can limit soil productivity.
Improve fertiliser efficiency
Boost fertiliser efficiency by reducing the solubility of the toxic elements and increases availability of nutrients to plant roots. Agricultural Lime in improving the absorption of prime nutrients (nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium) in plants growing in acid soils.
Higher yields for farmers
Lime is proven to increasing pH in acidic soil, reducing acidity, and increasing alkalinity. For most crops, liming to pH 6.5 is recommended. Liming improves yields by making the soil more basic, allowing the plants to absorb more nutrients.
